Today I have assigned some tutorials and practice work through Khan Academy.  The topic is Intro to Adjectives.  Let’s review and strengthen our skills guys. Follow the links below to do so.  Then complete the Adjectives worksheet provided on file.

Reading/Writing:

Since we are studying adjectives today, we will take a look at how Ingrid Law uses descriptive and figurative language in her book, Savvy.  This description helps to form an image for the reader and brings her stories to life.  She is an author who succeeds at “showing and not telling” in her stories.  Let’s explore together some of her techniques.  Watch the Reading Video and Instruction.  Then follow the writing prompt for the day using the format indicated in the video.  

Social Studies: 

We will continue our learning about The US Constitution.  Provided is a Downloadable Book From Core Knowledge.  Make sure to download this to your computer/desktop as we will be coming back to this periodically throughout our online time together.  For today,  your first assignment is to read Chapter 1, pages 1-9.  Make sure to write out the vocabulary definitions as you read along and be prepared to respond to the follow up questions provided.

If you believe you are now ready, go ahead and take your first Multiplication Unit Test. If, however,  you are not pleased with your current scores, you may go back and retake any assignments/quizzes thus far.  In fact, if you are not fully understanding these concepts, I encourage you to go back and relearn this information.  If, on the other hand, you are doing well and ready for the test, then proceed to the link below.
