Why Da Vinci Tree Academy?

We speak highly and favorably of both our school and the schools in our area. Even so, we think that there are some solid reasons why you should choose Da Vinci Tree for your child’s education!

For all of our students:

  • Small Class Sizes (typically 1 to 13 student to teacher/TA ratio)

  • Extended School Year that goes a full month longer than TUSD and other charters

  • Free and Reduced Lunches

  • Free Daily After-School Tutoring and Study Hall

  • Longer school days for increased learning

  • A dynamic program that combines a rigorous, traditional education with a contemporary STEM curriculum. It’s important that students can read, write, and do math, otherwise they won’t be able to code, model, and build! iPads for all students

  • Basketball and Soccer Teams as well as Clubs. We are the only charter school in Tucson to play sports against district schools.

  • A fully staffed and supportive ESS department for students with special needs.

  • A SECURE campus, with physical and magnetic locks on all main entry/exit points, closed circuit cameras in every room, and stainless steel mesh covering external windows and glass doors.

  • Students are inspired to work outside of the classroom. Our engaging lessons teach kids to code, make movies, build things, and much more! We also supply students with the resources to do many of these things on their own at home when they aren’t in school.

  • All students utilize the latest technology. Every student is given an iPad for classwork. Younger students keep their iPads at school and older students take them home to complete assignments, do projects, and explore their creative abilities!

  • We are globally minded. Our leadership team (and many of our staff) have worked and lived in different parts of the world and know what it means to be globally competitive and compassionate.

In the younger grades:

  • Free, Full-Day Kindergarten

  • Multiple SARSEF Award Winning Science Teachers that conduct annual, group science fair projects with their classes.

In the older grades:

  • Middle Schoolers go to the Catalina Island Marine Institute every year! Since the trip is very expensive (around $800 per student), Da Vinci Tree pays most of the cost. Most years students pay less than $300 to attend.

  • Graduating 8th graders get to keep their iPads so that they can use the tools they’ve been trained on for success in high school.

Family Centered, Hands-On STEM Education

Da Vinci Tree Academy is committed to always being a small school (less than 270 students) where parents and guardians are welcomed and where students are valued and cared for. With two teachers in each classroom (main teacher and TA), each student gets the attention they need to thrive. Students are given the opportunity to explore hands-on science and technology not offered in traditional schools.

Many of our classroom teaching teams have been working together for years. Many of our younger staff members are our former students. They gained a passion for education with us and came back to continue our mission!

More Time & Focus, Not More Busy Work

Other schools load kids up with multiple hours of homework each night. Often, these same schools fail to provide the support students need to be successful in their work. This shifts the burden of educating on to their families.

Da Vinci takes the opposite view. We make students do meaningful homework to sharpen skills and build a solid work ethic. We provide students with a free after school study hall and meaningful clubs to support kids in their growth so they aren’t just taking the homework home to their parents.*

We also provide a longer school day (8:00-3:30) and a longer school year (200 days, a month longer than TUSD or any other local charter school). These school extensions are scientifically proven to help kids who are behind get caught up and kids who are advanced thrive and achieve new heights!

The Technology Education they need for the futures you want.

Even before the pandemic, all of our students were trained to be fluent in technology. Each student is provided with an iPad and taught how to use it. When a student graduates from our program and moves on to high school, the iPad is given to them by Da Vinci Tree Academy as a gift.

Technology isn’t just what you see in a Best Buy or an Apple Store… Many technologies that underpin the way our modern world works can only be understood through hands-on application and demonstration. Da Vinci Tree Academy is fortunate to have engineers, scientists, and tech experts to help our children learn.

Space is limited…

Being a small school means limiting the number of students we can take in. What are you waiting for? Schedule a tour and enroll today!
