Cosmonaut of the Year!

We apologize on this very late announcement (in our defense, the past six months have been nuts)! The Da Vinci Tree Academy Cosmonaut of the Year is the highest award chosen by the school. Teachers each nominate three of their top students of the year to administration. Mrs. Ram and Mr. Roll are recused from voting to avoid any possible bias since they regularly work with certain students. Administration then chooses among the top students based on the student’s character, how they treat others, their attitudes towards their parents & teachers, and their work ethic at school.

We are proud to announce that the 2019-2020 Da Vinci Tree Academy Cosmonaut of the Year comes from Mrs. Martell’s 1st grade class! Although we are not announcing her name online for privacy reasons, we can share why we are proud to have this student represent our school. Our 19-20 Cosmonaut of the Year is very young but already has a lot of life experience. For reasons outside the control of her and her family, she has already faced many personal challenges that even adults struggle to cope with. Despite this, she comes to school everyday with a smile and a positive attitude! She treats all of her classmates with love and respect, and is always sincere and kind to her teachers and other members of staff. There are times when she misses school, but she always does her best, works hard, and gets caught up.
