COVID Update 9/27/21

Close up 2021.jpg

At the end of last week we had the case described below.

  • Second Grade - One new case, but the student had not been attending in-person school for several days and was likely not contagious when they had last been at school.

Today (Monday), the following cases were reported to us.

  • Sixth Grade - One new case. It is a high probability that this case was spread through contact with classmates.

  • Teacher - One new case. There is a high probability that the teacher caught COVID from a student. We would release the teacher's name but we haven't yet gotten permission from the individual (although it probably isn't hard to figure out). Since the teacher tested positive over the weekend they are currently under mandatory paid quarantine. Due to the fact that they are fully vaccinated the case is fortunately very mild.

Please continue to keep our kindergartener with pneumonia who is the hospital in your thoughts and prayers. We were told today that there were some setbacks over the weekend and we are not sure when the child will be able to be discharged to go home.

Later this week we will have some big announcements concerning COVID and what the school is doing to keep our kids safe while also improving the learning environment. Stay tuned.

Please let us know if your child receives a positive COVID test. We are committed to providing as much information as possible to our families so they can make the best informed decisions for their children.
