Welcome back!  It’s a new week full of learning potential.  Click on to the link below for the agenda and I‘ll walk you through the activity lineup for today. 

Science Reading:

Listen and apply your close reading skills to the EPIC story about The Cheetah VS The Ostrich.   After this reading, you will need to fill out the Venn Diagram all about the ostrich and the cheetah and then be able to tell me what these very different animals have in common.  

Make sure to provide at least 6 unique details about an ostrich, 6 unique and different characteristics about a cheetah and then list 6 things that these two animals both have in common.  

Your Venn Diagram should have a total of 18 facts on it (minimum).  Download it at the bottom of the page!

Writing:

When you are done with your Venn Diagram, I want you to use the bullet points from your Venn Diagram and write out two paragraphs--one paragraph telling me all about the cheetah and one paragraph telling me all about the ostrich. 

Each paragraph should be at least 8 sentences a piece.  Always use C.O.P.S (Capitalization, Organization, Punctuation, Sentence Structure/Grammar and Spelling) to edit your work.  

When you are done with both your Venn Diagram and the Writing Prompt, be sure to scan and email those to me and my TA (Levi).

I have another Division Word Problem Worksheet for you to work on.  Hopefully this is getting easier and easier and you are building and strengthening in you accuracy, speed and fluency. (download it at the bottom of the page)
