Welcome back! It’s a new week filled with endless possibility. Time to get started on our learning adventure. Take a look at the agenda for today’s activity line up.
Vocabulary
Review your new vocabulary list and write out each word 3x on the worksheet provided. As you will notice, each word ends with a silent “e”. If you look closely, you will see that attaching a silent “e” to the end will make the vowel sound like it’s name. (ie; A silent “e” attached to hop becomes hope. The vowel “o” in hope sounds like the name of the vowel which is “o”. Kit becomes kite. Attaching an “e” at the end of tap becomes tape, and the vowel “a” in tape now sounds like it’s name. The silent “e” changes a short vowel (tap) into a long vowel (tape). Watch the videos below and see if you can spot the pattern of how adding a silent “e” at the end of the word changes a short vowel to a long vowel and how this changes how you pronounce the word.

I’d like to provide you with a few examples of making inferences, then you may finish the inference worksheet available for download below!
