Welcome to Week 3 Day 2.  We are 16 days into our online learning.  I hope you are getting the hang of this. It should get easier and easier to navigate your way through the system.

I also hope that you are finding the materials challenging and that you are either learning something new or reinforcing things you already know.

To get started, watch today’s agenda video.

Grammar:

Today we will be learning about prepositions.

A preposition connects or links a noun, pronoun or phrase to the rest of a sentence.

It can also tell you the position or location of someone or something. (ie; some common prepositions include: on, under, below, beside, around, inside, through, etc).

Follow the links below to learn more.

***Then try your hand at putting what you learned to practice by completing the corresponding Preposition Worksheet provided at the bottom of the page!

Science:

Ready for a class field trip?  Great. Let’s travel to Washington D.C.’s Smithsonian Institute for a virtual tour.

All  you have to do is click on the link below.  We will be watching an Educational Smithsonian Video titled, How Birds Stay Warm.   Guided by Ornithologist Sahas Barve, you will learn about how birds stay warm in some of earth’s coldest climates (an ornithologist is an individual who studies birds, but in his words, he’s just a self proclaimed “bird nerd”).

So, put on a jacket and let’s get going (oh wait, it’s a virtual tour in the comfort of  your own home, you can wear whatever you’d like;).

***Don’t forget to print up the corresponding worksheet with follow up questions.  I recommend that you pre-read the questions to keep them in mind while watching the video.
