Intro

You made it to the 5th day of the 5th week.  Happy Fri-yay!  After today, we have officially made it to the halfway point of our online schooling.

That’s right.  10 weeks and our adventure comes to a close and summer will begin.

Accordingly, all work will need to be completed and turned in by June 2nd.  (That gives school staff one complete week to get grades out by the second week in June).

So, countdown begins, 3, 2, 1…  and you’re off.

Yes, the race has begun.   You are in the final stretch of this academic school year.  How will you finish the race?

With that said, it is only fitting that we reflect back on all we have done and learned so far and respond via Writing Prompt.

First, watch the pledge/joke, then click on my video underneath to go over our Agenda for the day, then get started.

Writing

Writing Prompt:

How will I finish out the school year?  Have I achieved my learning goals and objectives?  Could I have done better?  What will I do now with my time remaining?  Am I prepared for the next level?  What will it take to get there?

4th graders- write two paragraphs 6-8 sentences each.

5th graders- write three paragraphs 6-8 sentences each.

* As always, bring out the C.O.P.S and edit your work.

Reading

Find a cozy spot and settle in.  It’s time to read a section from The Lightning Thief.

First I will review text connections.  Click the link

Science

Today we will continue our exploration of the adaptive characteristics of animals.

We have already learned about some of the adaptive characteristics of an ostrich, now let’s learn about this in a more general and broad sense to be able to apply this same principle to other species of animals as well.

Math

Today we will be learning division with quotients of zero (and multiples of 10, 100 and 1000).

Hop on over to Khan Academy and let’s get started.
