Reading:

Let’s continue our learning and exploration of the Civil Rights Movement within this country. How was freedom and equality won?
Thanks to phenomenal and courageous individuals such as Hariet Tubman, Rosa Parks and Martin Luther King Jr, we now have increased civil rights.
These Civil Rights Activists helped put an end to slavery and then later segregation and demanded increased freedoms and equality for all people regardless of their racial heritage, ethnic background or the color of their skin.
The Civil Rights Bill of 1964 was passed ending racial segregation and increasing opportunities such as the voting rights for all American citizens.
